Who is North Shore Church?
Our Mission

Here's the deal, North Shore Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. North Shore is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.

Our mission at North Shore is to love God first. This means giving our full attention to Him. When we dedicate our lives to Love and Serve God first, we understand His heart for us and for people, YOU! Therefore, we cannot truly Love God without also showing His love to Others. Being a follower of Jesus means living and acting as Jesus would, and He loves everyone.

What Do we Value?

Belong - We are family and everyone who comes through our door should feel like they belong here

Change and Transformation - God never changes, but he says we are to be transformed by renewing our mind

Generosity - Those who sow generously, reap generously. We want to be generous with our Time, Talent, and Treasure

Future Generations - God is calling us to reach kids and youth. They will be key in seeing us fulfill our vision now and in the future

Where Do We Come From?

North Shore Church has been established the community of Terrace Bay Ontario since 1975 and was known as "Terrace Bay Gospel Assembly. A couple people got together and saw the need for a church family who would bring the good life-changing news about Jesus Christ. Startign in the pastor's living room, soon the congregation would move to te public school due to a need for more space.

After a few years of fundriasing and a struggle to find property, 2 lots were purchased from Kimberly Clark Pulp and Paper on 10 and 12 Twelve Terrace Court in 1979. By 1982, a building had been established and still serves as a valuable tool today.

The 1990's were a bit of a slower season of ministry and in the community. A few faithful remained and kept the focus on worshipping God and serving the community. By the early 2000's, the church mortgage and church house were paid in full! Some building renovations including new windows and a new roof  brought much needed improvements.

The mid-2000s were a difficult time for the community due to the challenges with the local pulp mill. Again, many families moved away but the church remained faithful and on mission.

As the community began to expand its focus, the church began a journey to long-term sustainability in the late 2010's. North Shore Church has gone through another building renovation through 2020 to the present day and continues it's slow and steady growth. More people are experiencing God's presence and love through out church every week.

We invite you to join us on this journey of faith and to experience all that God has for your life.

Where We are Headed

What's the bottom line? More than ever, North Shore is committed to fostering a family built around hope. Hope for today, Hope the future. Hope for better. Hope in Jesus. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.

We believe that God will take you exactly as you are but we believe that He will never keep you there. We believe when Paul says in the book of Ephesians in the Bible that "He (God) will immeasurably more than we ask or imagine".

This means our church will continue to build on this understanding of New Life in Christ and will continue to grow and learn about the things of God and about the new and creative ways we can fulfill our mission. We are always ready to try something new.
